Newborn Shoot Preparation

What to expect from your Newborn Photography Session

Once your beautiful baby is here it's time to capture their first few days. You are probably wondering what happens during a Newborn session, hopefully I can answer some questions you may have about a newborn photography session with me.

On the morning of the shoot it’s preferable to try and keep baby awake as long as possible. A bath and lots of play is always good stimulation. If at all possible, delay baby's feed until I arrive. It takes me around 30 minutes to set up so you could feed baby and we can chat about any images you may have seen on my site you particularly like etc.

It would also be ideal if baby is in a front fastening baby-grow to make the undressing process as smooth as possible. Once baby is in a nice deep sleep I will begin posing and photographing your bundle of joy, a dummy will also help to sooth him during the shots, we will obviously make sure it's out before I take any shots.

I will bring everything for the photo-shoot, if however there is a special toy or item that you would like included in the session please let me know so that we can look to incorporate this.

Clothes for Mom – something along the lines of a tank top, tube, camisole. Black or in a white/nude/beige color. Pants or skirt to match. Jeans are fine too. Avoid prints.

For Dads – a white, grey or black plain t-shirt. Avoid prints or branding

For siblings – a white, grey or black t-shirt/dress as well for their individual photos with their sibling.
